The Closing Process

The closing process for a real estate transaction can be complicated, and depending on your location, it may be handled by an escrow or title company, or an attorney. As your real estate agent, I will assist you in ensuring that all appropriate forms are filled out correctly, with all required initials and signatures in place, and that all information is current, accurate, and consistent on all documents. This is a crucial aspect of the closing process, as any discrepancies, inaccuracies, or missing information can cause delays. Regardless of your location, I will work diligently to ensure that everything runs smoothly and the closing process is completed successfully.

Pre-approval

It is essential that you and I know your qualifying level. I require that all my clients speak to a lending professional to help determine what you are qualified to purchase. This not only saves valuable time and energy, but having a pre-approval letter shows a seller that you are a serious and qualified buyer. It very well may be the difference between a seller accepting your offer over another in multiple offer situations.

Getting pre-approved by a lender

By providing your some basic information about your income, savings, and debt, he or she can assist you in getting pre-approved by a reputable lender. The lender will then go over your financing options, what monthly payment amount you can afford, and what you can expect for down payment requirements and closing costs.

Choosing a home

For most buyers, choosing a home is an emotional process, and an agent can assist in this process by offering objective information about each property that you consider. An agent can provide local community information, such as schools and zoning, as well as home-specific details, including condition and amenities, to help you find precisely what you are looking for. Susan has experience in helping buyers purchase a variety of homes, from newly-built to those that need some tender loving care.

Making an offer

Once you’ve found the home of your dreams, an agent will research recent comparable sales of similar homes in the area to help determine a competitive offer.
